THE HOME OF THE MARINERS
Jim Hoess Field is the home of the Grand Lake Mariners of the Great
Lakes Summer Collegiate League.
The field is named after Jim Hoess, who served the City of Celina as
Recreation Director from 1978 - 1991.
Jim Hoess Field is part of Celina's Westview Park.
Westview Park contains several minor league diamonds, a pond, tennis
courts, a soccer field and a shelter house.
The diamond is natural grass and is maintained by the Mariners' head
groundskeeper and the park maintenance employees of the city of Celina.
AT THE PARK
The Mariners' organization and local
volunteers run the concession
stand, located under the press box at Jim Hoess Field.
The concession stand features a variety
of snacks and sandwiches, along with soft drinks and American baseball
park staples such as hot dogs, hamburgers, popcorn and peanuts.
Numerous souvenirs are on sale at the
main ticket booth, located in front of the concession stand. Mariners'
hats and shirts, Great Lakes Collegiate League shirts, and souvenir
broken bats are available.
